Abstract

Diabetes is one of the leading causes of death in the Mexican population. This condition worsens quality of life and leads to earlier death. Understanding diabetes mortality and associated sociodemographic factors, is crucial for identifying the main causes of death, assessing the health status of the community, helping to design more effective health policies, and prioritizing resources to optimize prevention and treatment programs, ultimately improving the quality of life for patients. Analyzing mortality allows family physicians to provide a comprehensive, continuous, and anticipatory approach, broadening the scope of their daily practice.
