Clinical Error, Difficult Patient and Critical Incident: a Motivational Triangle to Train Residents

The important relationship that exists between the competency domains of: patient safety, clinical communication and specialized health training, its educational usefulness, synergies and the enhancing and beneficial effect are pointed out. Its effects on the resident are highlighted, through: the clinical error, the difficult patient and the critical incident that constitute the so-called motivational triangle to train residents. That is, how to use real situations formatively when things are not going well in the medical consultation.
